How to Get Started

Haven’t started the application process for your C1 licence yet? No problem! Here’s a quick guide:

  • Apply for the D2 & D4 application pack to add provisional entitlement through the DVLA website.
  • Get a medical exam for your D4 form. We recommend searching for “HGV Medical” online to find affordable options, as many schools charge extra for this service.
  • Once you receive your provisional licence, book your theory tests: both the multiple-choice theory test and the Hazard Perception test must be passed before you can take the practical exams.

The C1 Driver Training Process

Our C1 driver training course will prepare you for the two practical tests needed to earn your Cat C1 licence:

  • Module 3A: Reversing exercise in an S-shaped pattern into a bay, completed in-house.
  • Module 3B: On-road driving test in the Guildford area, completed on the final day of training.

Similar to your car test but to a much higher standard, during the road test the examiner will evaluate:

  • Vehicle control and manoeuvring
  • Safe pulling away and stopping at various locations
  • Appropriate use of mirrors and signals
  • Anticipation of other road users’ actions
  • Hazard awareness and vehicle speed management
  • Independent driving for 10 minutes

The road test lasts for 1 hour, requiring full concentration and control, but don’t worry – our training ensures you’ll be fully prepared for success.

Flexible Course Options

  • Two-Day Course: For confident manual car drivers.
  • Extended Courses: For those less confident in manual driving, or have little experience since passing their car test, longer training courses are available. Contact us to discuss your needs.

Pass Protection: For just £200, you can add Pass Protection, which includes an additional two hours of training and a re-test if needed.

If you’re working with a deadline to pass your Cat C1 test, we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs. Contact us today for more information!
